• Production has slowed to a trickle

  Scale on the evaporator plate, a partially closed inlet valve, or an ambient temperature above what the machine is rated for. Undercounter units in outdoor kitchens meet all three at once.

• Cubes come out hollow or cloudy

  A short fill or a water pressure problem upstream. Cloudiness is mineral content, which is a filtration matter rather than a repair.

• No ice at all and no water arriving

  The inlet valve, a frozen supply line, or a saddle valve that was never opened fully. We check pressure at the machine before anything is opened up.

• Ice tastes of the freezer

  An old filter and an ice store that has been sitting. Both are easy to correct, and neither means the machine has failed.

• Water pooling under an undercounter unit

  A blocked drain line or a drain pump that has stopped. In outdoor installations this is nearly always debris in the line.

• The harvest cycle sticks halfway

  A tired harvest heater or a thermostat reading late. The ice bridge freezes back onto the plate, and the machine stalls in place.
