The fresh food side has gone warm

Usually a stalled evaporator fan, a blocked defrost drain, a start relay that no longer closes, or a leak in the sealed system. We measure suction pressure and the difference between the two compartments before quoting anything.
Frost sheeting the back wall

Nearly always the defrost circuit: the heater, the bi-metal thermostat, or the control board that fires them. We test each leg in turn instead of replacing the whole assembly.
Water pooling under the crisper drawer

A defrost drain tube that has frozen or clogged. We clear the tube, install the correct drain heater clip and check the door gasket that let the humid air in to begin with.
The compressor never cycles off

Condenser fins packed with dust, a damper stuck open, or a thermistor reading low. Left alone this doubles the energy draw and takes years off the compressor.
The ice maker has stopped filling

For built-in and full-height column refrigeration from Thermador, Liebherr, Viking, Monogram or JennAir, almost always yes. Those units are built to run for twenty years or more, and a board or a fan is a small share of what replacement would price. For a freestanding unit past twelve years with a failed sealed system, we will tell you honestly when buying new is the better spend.

How long does a refrigerator repair take?

Testing normally takes thirty to forty five minutes. Around three quarters of repairs finish in the same visit, because fans, thermistors, defrost heaters, inlet valves and start relays ride on the van. Sealed-system and compressor work is booked as a second appointment.
